A lifelong resident of Cook County, MacCarthy is a graduate of Fenwick High School, The University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) and DePaul University College of Law.
MacCarthy is married and the proud parent of a 7-year-old son who attends Chicago Public Schools, and a newborn daughter.
